Do prior service basic trainees stay in seperate barracks during basic training? That's if I have to go back after a 5 year break in service?

If you were an E5 or above you would be placed in a separate bay and wouldn’t sit at the same table as the lower enlisted. Rarely do they have any communication with the lower enlisted. Being that you are a private you won’t have any preferential treatment. Honestly, they probably won’t know that you are prior service unless you tell them. You may get placed in some leadership positions during the duration of basic training because they will expect you to be squared away and to lead by example, but you definitely won’t get any passes or extra privileges.

Roger. I did see a SPC who deployed in a different basic training company who had privileges while the prior service SPC we had with no deployments was stuck with us and was equally treated the same haha. SGT Eric Davis

I have no idea where you would be going to basic but I can tell you that if you are coming to Fort Benning expect to be treated just like all the other privates. The only ones that are treated different are the NCOs and even some of them are still treated the same dependent on what unit they are with.
