I am currently on active duty, but would like to attend medical school to become a 62A. Since I am active would I have to wait until I can transfer into the guard or reserves? Or can I go while I'm on active duty via HPSP? I would like to know more about the process of going from 11A to 62A before taking the MCAT so I am not studying or taking the test for no reason. I have asked around my unit but have heard different things. I am not very knowledgeable in this subject so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

USUHS is the only way to attend med school on active duty. Even HSPS would require you to separate and then serve the time owed in the military after. There is no green to gold or tuition assistance for doctorate level programs because there are already programs in place to pay for those degrees.
That might be an overstatement about the doctorate level programs because I believe there are PA PHD programs in the Army, but you still work as a PA the whole time.
