How long after graduating AIT should I have to wait for my orders?

Just curious, I graduated AIT and I'm waiting on my orders for Japan. I've been waiting for 3 weeks now and for all 3 weeks they have been on "Port Call". Is there potentially something wrong with my orders or is this something that happens and it's just a waiting game?

LTC Kevin B. & SGM Erik Marquez - Do you guys have any insight into this young troop's question? I know the Army loves it's hurry up and wait games but one would think that 2 weeks would be plenty of time. Not sure what sort of hold up there would be causing a 3-week delay.

PV2 (Join to see) Are you waiting on a clearance for the new assignment? Do you have a spouse or kids? Anyone on EFMP? Could be as simple as post transportation has a trigger amount of troops on port call for Japan to contract an airplane, but not enough to fill a flight, so they are waiting to see if some of the planned SM on post graduate as expected to go on that same flight, or as is common, troops from another AIT training post added to the flight..and they grad next month.. May be the flight went out for bid but no airline has picked up the contract yet or one did that backed out and transportation is scrambling to re contract..
In the realm of anything is possible, it could be the SM in question has been mentioned as a witness, person of interest, potential victim or possible criminal actor in something CID is investigating, or a city, state or federal investigator have asked the SM remain at FT Lee while a material witness warrant is procured, Grand Jury comes back, they positively rule him out after being named in a case they are working.. I had such a case where the SM was supposed to PCS, Fire marshal from AZ , through our PMO asked the SM remain on post until the DNA and other lab work was finished.... He was released a week later to PCS, but later arrested, trued and convicted of arson that happened weeks before he enlisted, a fire fighter died in the fire.

I would think 2 weeks is sufficient unless he’s waiting for his security clearance

We are in the same situation with our Solider. Any information would be greatly appreciative.

Man, I'm sorry that's happening to you. I've never heard of this though. People usually get their orders a few weeks before graduation of AIT. Hopefully all is well. Keep us updated.
