How is an SF 86 National Security investigation adjudicated?

If a government agency initiates a National Security investigation on an individual and the individual no longer belongs to the agency that initiated the investigation and the investigation continues for seven years or more, who does the individual contact to determine whether the investigation is adjudicated?

The individual does not contact anyone but the gaining command/unit/company. The new unit's SSO/Security Manager can check status of your clearance. If you are trying to determine dates for a resume, you might be able to contact your previous unit's SSO/Security Manager to find out when you last investigation was adjudicated.

It's been awhile since I was working in the area, but as I understand it, DSS (http://www.dss.mil/) is the agency you would need to contact.

LTC (Join to see) lol I bet sir. My first dealing in 01 was with Dss which I can say the investagator for them was very respectful and straight up. My last one in 11 with OPM was a straight up azz. Like I haven’t served faithfully for 17 years treated me like I was some prisoner who murdered 100 ppl. Lol oh the fun job they have.
