You might want to find out if you can reclass into it first. You are in an under-strength MOS and HRC will need to make a striped determination weather to allow you to reclass or not

SFC (Join to see) I thought you were fixing to bust out the feel, felt found or do they not teach that at 79S course?

SFC (Join to see) lol definitely a recruiter thing. One thing the Career Counselor Course doesn't teach is overcoming objections, it's all technical. That's why for us you have to be recommended to join the field. The SGM interviews you and decides if you'll be a good fit.

Japan sounds awesome. That is something I would love to experience . Living in Germany would be awesome. I just would love to go there in a non-combat Mos to serve. I have a question : do you get to pick your duty station if you Reclassify?

SPC (Join to see) no you don't, but you will move if you Reclass. Being in a non combat MOS has its own drawbacks. You still go to the field. You work when everyone else is off. Being a low density MOS means they can't lose you to go to schools as easily and you're usually undermanned in your shop. The good thing about the Infantry is that you promote quickly and all MOS's pretty much become admin jobs at SSG and above.
My advice is think about where you want to be 10-20 years from now. Specifically, where - not just a different job. Then plan backwards from there.
