I am currently stationed in Korea and my Wife is stationed in Ft. Hood. We are in the process of buying a house and we are not getting BAH. My question is will she be able to receive BAH once I receive my orders in a couple weeks? We keep getting back and forth answers about this so anything helps.

Just to clarify: does the Army list you as geographical bachelors for this BAH question.

Good question. For soldiers married to other soldiers the answer is this. BAH goes to the higher ranking solider. Since you’ll be stationed overseas that gets a little tricky. I’m a Finance NCO so I can find out more for you and let you know what I discover today. I’ll DM you my findings.

SSG (Join to see)
SGT (Join to see) If that’s the case you’ll get family separation for sure. I did a little more digging into it. Since you have no children and you’re separated in two different locations Family separatation is the only entitlement you both would receive.

SSG (Join to see) But when I receive my orders that will be bringing me to Ft. Hood in January would she be able to use that to receive BAH and BAS?

When you PCS to Fort Hood and move in with her then you both can receive BAH w/out dependents rate. If you have any more questions and want to speak privately I’ll DM you my email address.

Yes but only when you PCS and move in to the new house with her. You will both have to go to the DMPO at Fort Hood and fill out the paperwork for this.

The Army has ended the Geographical Bachelor... I have provided the above link as a reference. Go see your S1 and have your wife to go see her S1 because both of you should be receding BAH. I hope this helps....
