Never posted on here but figure it's worth a shot as I feel my situation is unique.

I was selected for Warrant Officer school through the National guard which would carry me through flight school etc. but finding clear guidance on conditional release's is challenging.

Currently active duty looking to transition to the guard (12 years TIS, 3 years left on contract, NOT indef). I've been looking through regulations and the conditional release DD Form 368 to better prepare me for the upcoming paperwork nightmare I feel is going to happen.

Has anyone gone through this process to do something similar? Primarily looking to see what additional items were required of someone who is under contract, and if they had to pay back any bonus. Since attending warrant officer school is considered a career advancing move I feel a payback is not warranted however, with the transition of branches it may be viewed differently. I've already begun conversations with my career counselor as well but anything helps. Thanks for any responses!

I've received the info I needed to answer my questions. I'm utilizing the favorable chapter 16-2 (entrance into a officer training program) to make my transition into the guard. You 100% need Command back to pull this off which I had and made things very easy to accomplish!

SFC may I ask how you accomplished this? I am in a similar situation, I was accepted in to ROTC Early Commissioning Program but not through the green to gold option. My cahin of command also supports this. So I am attmempting to get a conditional release through AR 635-200 16-2. Is there a packet needed for this? The Carrer counselor SGM sent up my acceptance letters to HRC to veify if I qualify but no packet was made. Would have any insight on this by any chance? Thank you.
