I will be receiving orders to go to my first duty station (Fort Hood) from Kentucky on the 10th! Unfortunately I didn’t know that I would have to pay for everything up front (gas, and temp lodging) then get reimbursed so I didn’t save up enough. I know I can request a pay advance but I can’t do that until I have my orders which is the same day I’ll have to leave. On top of that I have to pay my down payment and prorated rent as well. I was wondering if I could request PTDY so that way I would have 10 days to request and receive my pay advice. Also, is there a such thing as BAH advance?

Have you filled out a DA31 yet? If so, did your CoC not accept it, despite your situation?
Also have you looked at getting a Government Travel Charge Card? It should alleviate any situations like this, should it occur in the future.

I’m technically not in the military yet since I swear in and get my orders on the 10th. And how would I go about receiving a government travel charge card?

Pretty much an all-online process. Also, what do you mean you're not in the military yet? As in you haven't gone through BCT and AIT yet?
