On 04DEC13, I attended the promotion board to become an E5. However, my DA 3355, the PPW, was not submitted to HRC and as a result, I was not considered promotable to "Big Army". I currently have 330 points registered on my PPW and my cutoff score was 39, due to being in a STAR MOS.<div><br></div><div>Per Section 3 of the Memorandum For United States Army, Promotion Work Centers (PWCs) for Department of the Army Promotion Point Cutoff Scores for&nbsp;</div><div>1 January 2014 and Junior Enlisted Issues for the Active Army (AA),</div><div><br></div><div><div>3. Eligible Soldiers who meet the following criteria may appear before a&nbsp;</div><div>promotion board between 20 November 2013 through 4 December 2013 as follows:&nbsp;</div></div><div><br></div><div><div>c. To SGT primary zone: Corporal(CPL)/Specialist(SPC)with minimum 35&nbsp;</div><div>months TIS and 7 months TIG.</div></div><div><br></div><div>At the time of my board, my TIS was 40 months and my TIG was 16 months.</div><div><br></div><div>Once I was not able to identify myself on the promotion list, I addressed the issue through the proper channels, but I've been informed that HRC does not accept anymore Exceptions To Policy (words to that effect stated by the BN S1 NCOIC) to backdate promotions that were not submitted in a timely fashion. I've been told that I will now have to wait until February and hope my points don't jump.</div><div><br></div><div>However, I've seen in the past (2013), where other Soldiers have found themselves in a similar situation, but submitted documentation to HRC to have their promotion orders backdated.</div><div><br></div><div>My question is, does anyone know where I can find this and what information needs to be sent up? I want to have the right information so I may attempt to rectify the situation.</div>

SPC Mullet,

Follow the above link and it will explain why you may not have gotten promoted last month. If your board was held on the 4th and the paperwork was not turned in and processed by HRC that very day then you are not considered promotable until the next month. So once points come out if you are a star MOS with only 39 points you should get picked up for Feb 1. Like SSG Goicoechea said if you didn't get picked up because your S1 didn't get the paperwork to HRC in time the chances of you get a back dated date of rank will be very hard.

Good luck

Youre a 35F......You will get promoted next month that *+ is not going away anytime soon. I am a 35N  I missed the *+ by one month in 2012 and since I am still a promotable Specialist. Each month the points go up and each month I have to grind for more points. I have 456 points total without WLC and Ive been deployed the last 10 months or so. My TIS is 54 mos TIG 20 months. Just keep moving in the right direction and keep your head up. Plus it's going to teach you to be patient and humble if you have to wait. Hell it's only 1 month, try being promotable for over a year and not make it.....You'll get there sooner than me and overall your peers are Army wide not just your MOS so even though your peers within the 35F feild are promoting slightly faster than you, you are still skyrocketing past most MOS's in the Army.

Yeah, I've decided to try and learn as much about this process as I can so that my Soldiers won't have to endure the same problem.

SPC Alfano,

I didn't get it backdated. HRC will no longer do that. I just had to wait the extra month. It sucks, but it is what it is.

what did you have to do to get situation resolved? contact HRC? I have had several promotion issues with little assistance, my CSM should be contacting HRC on the matter just wasn't sure what else to do.
