Being a 1SG is being a 1SG and leading and taking care of your soldiers come first and everything else will fall in line. Treat them the way you want to be treated Hooah

Depends on if you intend to be a real 1SG, Senior enlisted adviser of the unit, in-charge of the welfare of the enlisted troops, or are you going to follow the trend and impose yourself as the units operations NCO, de-facto XO?

1SG (Join to see) It was cool, because I concentrated on my actual job, of being the enlisted advisor, and my main worry was the welfare of my unit at the time, is enlisted troops. I stayed completely out of command and operations. That being said, it’s tough duty, you have to manage the low morale and family deterioration that can easily creep in with continued endless field time, in the middle of the desert.

I’m getting done with a three year tour as being a Drill sergeant. I haven’t had real weekends or holidays with with my family in a long time. Would you say I can expect the same? Long nights, no weekends, rare DONSAs? Normal army stuff? MSG (Join to see)
