I am currently stationed at Fort Bliss and I am familiar with the open sand dune type terrain. Mostly I am just trying to get an idea of what I am dealing with.

Depending on when you go it will either be windy and cold or windy and hot.

More hills and mountains ...I was an OC I drove all over that place....the top of the box on the other side is a impact area for jets....one big opening coming from main side. If you go there playing OPFOR you will be climbing if not in your Vizmods

MAJ Ken Landgren - And the fact that the OPFOR units have fought these same battles over and over again and over the same terrain.

CPT Lawrence Cable - Yes they know the routes. What happened to the Russians in Afghanistan is they used the open ground and routes which made them at risk for ambushes as the Taliban used higher terrain.

MAJ Ken Landgren - The Armor unit loved the reverse slope defense and they had it down to a science on that terrain. They would set up in a lot of places that looked damn flat until you got on the ground, then you would find that there was an easy slope that peaked out just inside their maximum effective range. They would sit hull defilade, my Engineers dug those holes too, and pop the Blue Force tanks as they crested the rise.

CPT Lawrence Cable - Yes as an ex tanker, we always tried to use the terrain to mask us or give us cover upon contact.
