My grandfathers served in marine navy and army national guard one of them sadly Passed last year. The other is in slowly degrading Heath and usually I would never do this but I wanted to post there names here for the community if you happen to recognize either name I would like to know what you though of them my grandfathers names are "Roger Dale Hamby Sr. U.S. Marine Corps And Jerry Francis Freeze U.S. Navy/ U.S. Army National Guard. I would like to connect my grandfather Jerry to anyone who may have known him in service if I had been on Rally Point earlier in my career I would have done the same for my grandfather Roger but if you k ow him I would like to connect with my family your names as well im sure they would like to hear how both men were while serving.

SPC (Join to see), I think its great you are trying to help your grandfather reconnect with other service members he served with. If you know what units he served in, you might have better results contacting those units. If you don't know the units he served in, you might ask to look at his scrapbooks for pictures and go from there (to identify units by the patches etc.). I think its a very admirable and selfless thing you are doing for your grandfather, you are setting a great example.

CSM thank you for the advice I'll try to find out I head to North Carolina in two weeks to visit family before going to Ft Stewart I'll ask and if he doesn't want to tell me I know where his paperwork is from the military. I will try to find out more I love my family most have served and it always feels like they don't ever want to talk about much of it because they think it might scare me out of the service. It's actually reversed I'd rather learn more before deploying than not know that's why I'm glad to have been in 4-31 IN for the past four years I've learned more as commo here than I'd ever have a chance to learn in other units. But I'd still like to learn more.
