I just re enlisted, I am in the reserve component. I would like to go active. I rather lose the bonus and go active. I'm already working with a recruiter. I am also transferring units because the one that I am in is rfx. I've heard that it is very unlikely they'll release me, therefore the career counselor is switching me over to a non deployable unit. I am here in fort sill, my husband is stationed here.

CH (1LT) (Join to see) - Here is the bad news. You can't speed up the process. The paperwork will need time to be processed. The transfer to a different unit could take as little as 3 days to as long as 3 months. Then, when you submit a DA 368 Conditional Release, that will take even more time as it literally has to go to each level of your Chain. Also, at no time are Commanders at each level of your Chain required to grant permission to be released. The only thing you can really do is keep in constant contact asking for the status update. I would recommend checking in with your CoC about every 3 weeks to see if there is an update. The good news, is if you can get transferred from the RFX unit, your chances do increase. Good luck.
