I was offered an AGR position as a recruiter. I have heard some horror stories about this position. However, I am looking to get back on active duty status. Are there AGR positions, other than recruiting that one could apply for? Thank you in advance.

Contacting the NCO Academies to inquire about becoming an SGL if you aren't afraid to work, and make a big difference.

I'm sure it's different from state to state. All I had to do was type "agr jobs in..." and a whole list popped up.

It really all depends on your MOS. I am in Chaplain recruiting now because I am a 56M and there has to be one in the office but as a 56M, we wouldn't do regular recruiting. Only for Chaplains. It's typically a 3 year assignment depending on the MOS. Recruiting can be the difference between you getting promoted over your peers though. In my world there aren't many 56M's who have the recruiter badge. So, it can most certainly help your career out. AGR is different. USAREC would only be "borrowing" you. Now, the Chaplain Corps operates a little different across the Army as a whole so, I am only speaking from my foxhole.
