Yes, all the normal NCOES is always available with a 4187 requesting. As far as anything else though, it is up to your chain of command to release you for such. And then there is a funding issue.

USAREC CSM has made it point for soldiers to attend NCOES when scheduled. This is different from the past due to mission your school could be canceled or moved to a later date. Just as said above NCOES is it though no specialty schools unless you convert to a 79R where you go to station commander course and later on V7 which is for guidance counselor. Sorry for late response been away fr computer.

I am glad you posted this question because I was going to post it myself. I am trying to decide right now if I want to submit a packet for Recruiting School and this is one of the factors I am using to heavily weigh my decision.

USAREC will allow you to go to NCOES while on recruiting duty, but you have to be off the New Recruiter Program, which is upto 9 months.

SFC Gannon, I remember being held up by New Recruiter Program, they no longer discriminate against it. I have friends out there and they taking advantage of this!

SGT(P) Cunningham, I would call your branch manager and see if they are willing to release you to Recruiting before you go through the whole packet process. Plus if they could put you on school orders then they will, that was I did and recently had done for some subordinates. Also, try not to get wrapped up about "choice of duty", it guarantee first/top pick; it guarantees you get one of nine battalions out of three brigades which could be more than half of the US. So pin-point is a joke! Although most people now are getting their home Battalion.
