NCO's here is a question for you:

SM comes into your office and asks about ending a relationship where they are dating someone that is controlling and trying to boss them around. Significant other is not working/refusing to get a job and telling them how to do things (treating them like an immature child).

I find myself in this situation and need to know should I call it quits and how do I stay safe?

As some have said, contact your local authorities. Also petition the court for a temporary restraining order.

If this is the situation, then my recommendation is to get out yesterday! If you are concerned about your personal safety, do you have friends, family, anybody to stay with? But don't look back, I really do believe you deserve better than that. Everybody does.

Thanks for reminding me that I deserve better...I forgot that.
Don't have any family, but friends are helping me get out of here so I am safe. Just hurts me to know that this is happening and I have to move faster than the speed of light and he is prior service also.

I wish I could say that just because somebody was or is in the service means that they have honor and integrity, but it doesn't. Seen it too many times already. As for safety, as SPC Jesus Lizarraga has mentioned, get police involved. The individual who you are leaving will try to make you feel like crap for it, but if they degraded the situation to where you feel your safety is threatened, you owe it to yourself.

I am grateful to know that fellow soldiers are standing beside me...been wanting to cry, but don't got any tears left. Safety isn't a major issue right now cause my friends here are police and vets fro Nam to today so I am just trying to figure out stuff and thank you for looking up the SWC link J. They are the ones helping me get out if it.

Grateful isn't the word for all my friends here on RallyPoint
