I’m going to ALC in March and would like to know what I have to prepare myself for and what I wpild need to work on so I can complete the course.

Hello SGT Ramos. I graduated from ALC at Fort Jackson a month ago. As AGR I was enrolled in the Active duty ALC.
PRT-Memorize all excersices (preparatory, MMDs, CDs, Revocery) You wont be able to use the cheat sheet.
Memorize The Creed of the Noncomissioned Officer, Army Song and Soldiers Creed
APFT
Leadership skills
Army Writing-Essay & MFR (based on topic assigned by SGL)
MOS Related- Disbursing, Budget, GFEBS, etc (the tests will measure your research ability, meaning PDF)
Drill & Ceremony
If you dont bring your POV, try to do the best you can to get a rental. School house, DFAC & Lodging are far from eachother. You will have a hard time if you dont bring transportation. Hopefully this information help you.

I appreciate the info Sergeant. It’s funny because I’m AGR as well and they still want to send me to Fort Knox Reserves ALC. That info definitely does help me. I appreciate it.

SSG (Join to see) In that case you will be fine. Active duty ALC was very challenging for me, as I was the only Reserve. Good luck!

SSG (Join to see) 36B ALC is purely technical in nature. You'll focus on the different aspects of FM such as disbursing, accounting, budget execution, ppbe, etc. Dont expect much or any of military pay. You're given plenty of time to study for the tests so you'll do great. Once your class date gets closer your SGL will email the entire class with what to expect.
