Interesting piece on the operational reach of ISIS now using supporters in Egypt and Libya to conduct attacks. What do you think the US is going to do to counter the operational reach of the Islamic State in other countries?

Interesting post, sir. I hope we have a natural backlash (against ISIS) from these other countries going for us. We often talk of a coalition of the willing, and it will take other countries to win this fight. The "good" part of this is that ISIS is attacking not just US interests, but the interests of other Arab nations, and I'm hoping that stokes their willingness to be part of the coalition that defeats ISIS.

BL: to end this the Arab nations must make a stand and demonstrate that they will not tolerate this. My fear is that many of these nations do not have a government that is strong enough to stand against this force. Syria is a great example and I believe the dysfunctions in Libya and Egypt are similarly suited. Zawahiri is Egyptian, and although he has been exiled to some degree, he still has followers.
