PVT Tyson Nelson if you made a commitment you need to keep it. Find a way to make it work ask questions of the chain of command as well as possibly your employer. You'll only be a PVT for a relatively short period of time provided you don't bow it now! Good luck and full fill you dreams and commitments!

I assume you are referring to your two weeks of annual training. To begin with, you will be on active duty and will be paid for your time. If you don't show up you will probably get kicked out of the reserves and forfeit any and all of your benefits. There is no reason why you cannot workout a suitable arrangement with your command ahead of time if you know I'm sure you are incapable of being away for 2 weeks. Waiting until it's time to show up is unacceptable and would not fly in a civilian job either.

No, employers are only required to compensate you if they give other employees the same treatment. If they don't then you will be LWOP. They also can not make you use any vacation leave or sick leave while you are on Drill/AT or any other military training.
