Army has Combat Diver Qualification Course for combat arms & Navy has dive phase during BUDS for SEAL. Any similarities or differences?

They are similar in the fact that SOCOM issues baseline interoperable tasks that have to be taught at all combat dive courses. However, in the SF one at Key West, we teach a lot of top side operations such as watercraft movements. The other branches dive course may be a lot shorter than our 6 week POI, but its because they offer different courses that teach top side stuff where we are a one stop shop.

Eugene yea there are many differences, the Army course is I think 5 weeks and it is scary hard. So that would be a similarity with BUDS but the difference is it is not an MOS it is simply a skill set for a special operator. There are lots of similarities I am sure. One of the big differences is if a guy fails BUDS he will not be a SEAL, only SF guys or other qualified Special Operators attend the course.
