<div>Curious if anyone uses or is familiar with the VA's My-Health-e-Vet website (http://www.myhealth.va.gov/mhv-portal-web). There are a lot of great features, including a portal to store all of your medical information (so you can make it readily available to VA doctors and others that you choose).</div><div><br></div><div>I have a few ideas that I want to propose to the VHA. But first I was hoping to see if there were any other RP users familiar with the system. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>

I've used it for a couple years. They sank a fortune into it. However, they still don't update most of the features that it was designed to show, especially the pending appointment section.

I log on and check my appts regularly and see that they list them sometimes and dont other times, I just recently initiated congressional on the Salt lake Va Hosp and since it started they are bombarding me with appts out the ass to try to make them look good, my key complaint was setting in the ER waiting room for 4 (four) hours with a heart attack and stroke and they did nothing but told me to set tight.

CPL Hillard "Scott" Smith It's a beautiful thing...being able to catch them in their lies! Appointments have been a continual issue - but I did do some digging and found out that often the clinics (in my area here in Florida) did not have access to the site and could not upload updates. The clinic was forced to send the appointment data via mail which then had to be manually input. Not sure if that would be a similar reason for your issue. As for the secure messaging...OMG..gotta tell you the IT folks just aren't on the ball at all for that system.

To get to the Appointments section (after you've logged in), look under the "Get Care" tab or access it through your Personal Health Calendar. There, you can view your appointments, which include those you self-entered as well as your VA Appointments. You can also look up your past VA Appointments from the last two years. In addition to showing the date, time and location of each VA Appointment, you can also see the "status" (i.e. kept/not kept, future or cancelled) of each appointment. It also shows if you should have blood drawn or an x-ray taken before your VA clinic visit. You can NOT make, cancel or change a VA Appointment through this feature, but you can send a Secure Message to your VA health care team if you need to rearrange your schedule!

Quick follow-up in case others use the VA's health website, but didn't see this post. Is anyone else familiar with the VA's myHealtheVet web portal for maintaining your health records, etc?

Yes, I'm a current employee with Department of Veteran Affairs....
Who is the Health Resource Center? The Health Resource Center (HRC) is the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) national call center that provides customer service and support to Veterans, caregivers, other government agencies and the general public regarding VA health benefits, eligibility, and billing questions. Confused about a co-payment charge? Need assistance paying a bill? Require more information regarding eligibility for VA benefits? The professional staff of the Health Resource Center answers questions to topics like these and more every day. The toll-free phone number listed at the top of Veteran Patient Statements and HRC's national 1-877-222-VETS (8387) toll-free number connects callers to Health Resource Center Contact Representatives who can assist with a variety of inquiries. HRC aims to honor Veterans by providing World Class Customer Service. They do this through innovation, compassion, and persistence.
