No offense but you should not reach out to anyone as recommended unless your son is being harassed or is exhibiting some mental issues related to military lifestyle. Otherwise encourage him to speak with the training CPl. or SGt. They are hold over trainees who are awaiting assignments and have already graduated. If none are available he needs to request a private open door with the Drill or Tac NCO, depending on Basic or AIT. Simply have him be honest and request a battle buddy to help him after hours. I assure you this is the best course of action. Mom or Dad reaching out shows a little more weakness then is required. He will get the help he needs if he seeks it. Thank you for your service. I am a former Red-leg. What MOS did he get assigned and how far into the training cycle is he? Should have asked this first. And thank you for your service.

Thanks everyone I appreciate all the advice even from CSM Charles H. It is always hard not trying to help as a mother. I passed on your responses to him and it is time for me to let go.
