My first packet took 1 week but was denied. It has been six and a half weeks and it is still not approved/denied yet.

It all depends on location and reason for EFMP. If there are no services for that reason, Command Sponsorship could be denied.

It can take a few weeks. It is hard to estimate whether or not if will be approved, based on location and MOS dictates location. Why did you not get this straight when you were planning for PCS? Be sure to see what type medical facility is where you are assigned, the larger the facility the greater the prospect. Thank you for your service.

Sergeant Major, this has been a nightmare situation. I PCSed in April on orders that were to be changed while I was TDY en route. The orders were deleted two weeks ago and I received my Germany assignment this past week. And I’m going to have to report back to my losing unit while I wait for my Germany orders. Oh, and I received my original orders exactly four weeks prior to the day of my final-out, and my assignment only three weeks before then.

That is crazy. Have you asked to speak with your CSM. You deserve the opportunity to work through your Family’s follow on before you leave as it was a change in assignments. I am sure he or she could intervene to give you the time at least to get all of the paperwork in order.
