Not in yet; want to switch branches once you're in...
Why not just start in the branch you want? Everybody needs more people in the ranks.
I despise when recruiters use this tactic.

To directly answer your question, we need more information. Change from what branch/ component to what branch/ component? Enlisted, Warrant, or Officer?

Briana Merritt - OK, well that is very pertinent information. Entry requirements for the Corps won't change; what is at issue is that RE3.
Some RE3 codes are waiverable, and each service has different stipulations on what they are willing to do. Any misconduct is not waiverable by either the Army or USMC right now. If it is something else, serving well in the USAR might be useful in getting an endorsement for a waiver.
Undeniably, it makes a 368 process more complicated and lengthier. It will go normally for the first phase - getting the 368 in the first place - about 90 days or so. Once it is time to enlist, you'll need that waiver, if it is available. Once granted, you can enlist and be discharged from the USAR.
I would plan for a lengthy process; optimistically 180 days.
I'd also recommend you have a plan in case the answer is no.

What was the RE3 for, if you don't mind me asking?

Briana Merritt - I wish you the best of luck. Let me know how it turns out.
If you need anything else as far as insider information, I am very well-versed on the USAR process. Feel free to ask.

Thank you. I should be getting a call from a Captain this week for a phone interview, and from there it’ll go to the 2 star, and he’ll decide overall

It's worked for decades now. If your specifically meaning switch from one branch like Air Force to Navy the best basic or boot camp to start with is Marine due to it seems like the only basic that's accepted in all five branches without having to do it over again.
