Depends on what you mean by good. Lots of issues at the post, so you get lots of calls? Few issues, so that you don't? Some posts still utilize MPs for LE patrols, and some have moved to the DoD Police model (which I disagree with, as an MP). Give me more info and I'll try to help.

SSG (Join to see) Not very many DoD Police anymore. At least not like there were 8 years ago. Most are in the head shed now.

Perhaps it's an easy coast thing. APG, APG Edgewood and Ft. Meade dont really have anything except DoD police. They are great people, but I believe that MPs should perform MP functions, or risk atrophy of the law and order skill set. I know some MP Soldiers who can't do a simple Sworn Statement.

Nothing quite like realizing spellcheck made you look like an idiot several days after posting. Obviously that was supposed to have been "east" coast.

As an MP, I feel there’s always a trade off at duty stations. You might get a nice duty station (geographically) but maybe the unit isn’t that great (i.e. poor leadership, minimal chance for schools, overworked.) Or you go somewhere like Bragg or Campbell where there’s usually a couple opportunities for schools (BLC, Airborne, Air Assault, SRT, DVIT, etc.)
From my experience, there’s no “perfect” duty station. Just remember, you have to give a little to get a little. You want something good from the Army, you have to give the Army something it wants. Show that you’re a team player by volunteering for details, exercises, and whatever else to show your leadership you’re a team player. This gives you a better chance of having your name come up when they need names for schools or desireable (which you’ll figure out after a couple years) duty stations become available.
