Scenario: travel from TDY enroute station to HOR is 6 days. I would assume the HRAP days wouldn't start being deducted until I arrive at my HOR and check in with the recruiting station, but I have been told by a reputable(ish) source that the 6 days for travel will be deducted from the 14 for HRAP (I will only have 8 more days after I finish traveling). Does anyone have a regulation paragraph or something I can reference to get this clarified? So far its just hearsay. Thank you for any clarification.

I don't know the regulation, usually I would have that for you, but I was HRAP after OSUT and the travel time was just taken out of the HRAP time. I didn't mind though; it was the holidays and I didn't do any recruiting anyways. My recruiter just told me to enjoy the extra days at home. SSG McDaniel was a cool dude.

2LT (Join to see) - That was my experience. That being said, don't take it as gospel; that was over a decade ago and there is no telling whether things have changed or if that was even the right way to do it. I was a PFC and there was quite a bit of leeway given to us new privates. I would advise that you direct the question to the commander of your recruiting office when you arrive and they should have the definitive word for you.

Yeah, I'm thinking the best route to go is to talk with my S1 and see what they say.
