If a Command Senior Chief reverts to a non-command position before retiring, can they still wear the Command Chief badge?

For those familiar with Navy regs.
My dad is retiring in August as a Senior Chief. Previously he had held the position of Command Senior Chief but has since reverted to a non command position.
Is he able to retire wearing his Command Senior badge or is that not authorized? What regulation covers this?

Ask his branch, I’m army but in the Army the star (ie first SG or CSM) goes with the job. You do not retain it. Look, I’m sure your Dads got this covered if he is retiring

Command is a position, not a rank. But I’m not 100% familiar with Navy stuff.

I mean he’s retiring. I’m not sure how big a deal it is, but if he wants to wear the badge at his retirement ceremony, who’s gonna stop him?
