I have crooked teeth and a few cavities. also my wisdom teeth are growing in but I can chew just fine. Is that going to stop me from doing basic? I'm a junior in high school and I'm doing split option training so I can only cut 15 extra days into the beginning of the school year. What do they do in reception dentalwise? (Going to Benning)

PV2(P) (Join to see) unless things have changed, you should be fine. I saw folks that were borderline meth mouth get through BCT. In AIT, you’ll be able to get more advanced work.

As for wisdom teeth, again, you should be fine. I went almost a decade, and they never took them out. (not for lack of trying, I had to fight them the last few years). But at the beginning, I think you’ll be alright.

Talk with your recruiter.

Thank you. And my recruiter was a little unsure about it so I reached out to see if anyone knew.

Will that affect how long I'm in reception?

I had my wisdom teeth removed while on active duty well after basic, you will be fine.
