I've often overheard officers and even civilians referring to someone as a West Point Grad, or a Citadel Grad, or even Annapolis...these seem to be the big ones. Is your military school highly coveted? What about the USAF Academy and schools like Virginia Military, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech and there are 100s of known defunct military academies, what about those? West Point seems to be the most coveted for Army Officers...however, this is a topic above my pay grade. West Point vs. Annapolis vs. Citadel?Officers, care to chime in? CW2 (Join to see) is promotion quicker coming from a better school, or do you just look better on paper, in your experience?

Not sure how true it is, but I have been told that USAFA (then ROTC, finally OTS) grads promote first after selections are made for their year groups.

TSgt Joshua Copeland , In the civilian world, the equivalent would be a medical school graduate; if you have graduated from a top-tiered school, you are more likely to get picked up for and intern/externship. I just thought it to be nepotism (good old boys club)...at a purist level.
