So I’m at my first unit in processing. Our summer block leave is at the end of this up coming month of June. It’s may 29th right now. I was looking at putting in my leave packet and turning it into my team leader. Because I have already met them on day 2 in processing. I have no idea where to start with what papers I need to print for a leave packet and what all papers I need. all help would be greatly appreciated?

ok - first - you will need to see how many leave days you have accrued, and have you taken leave in between your AIT and reporting to your new duty station. Most units will NOT allow a Troop to go in the hole with leave beyond a week. Second step is filling out a DA31 (leave form) along with unit specific paper work ( Vehicle inspection, a proposed itinerary(do not finalize flight) a risk assessment, among other paperwork.

DA Form 31 is all the form you need, unless your unit has a particular SOP about leave packets. Step one, just get with your NCOs and they will assist you.

What's the guidance from leadership about processing leave forms? For example in my unit for ordinary leave, we have to submit it at least 2 weeks prior.
It depends on your unit. Generally it's been in my experience DA 31, Trips (which is supposed to no longer be a requirement) LES and then whatever the unit wants. You should check with your team leader or squad leader.
