This list have been around at least since I joined the Army in 99 and I imagine it's been around for much longer than that. Is it time for a tweak or is it a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"?
Loyalty - Bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, the Army, your unit and other soldiers.
Duty - Fulfill your obligations.
Respect - Treat people as they should be treated.
Selfless Service - Put the welfare of the nation, the Army, and your subordinates before your own.
Honor - Live up to all the Army values.
Integrity - Do what’s right, legally and morally.
Personal Courage - Face fear, danger, or adversity [physical or moral.]

SFC Stephen Atchley - COL Chamberlain talks to a Maine unit that refuses to fight. His soldiers protected the flank of the Union Army, when they ran out of ammunition, they used fixed bayonets to charge the rebels and routed them at Gettysburg. His superiors were so impressed and sympathetic that they were placed in the middle of the Union defenses. Unfortunately, Lee decided to attack the middle.
