If I attend Phase-1 and Phase-2 at Ft. Sam, at what point do I get PCS orders?

Let's suppose that based on the ATTRS catalog and the cycle that determines phase-2 locations, I will be attending Phase-2 at Ft. Sam. When would I get PCS orders? Would dependent travel be authorized off the bat? Or is Phase-1 still TDY?

Oops, forgot to mention I would be entering as a (prior service) civilian. Does that change anything? How does it work for PS soldiers that re-enter AD during a re-class? Are they TDY-enroute the same way IET soldiers are?

You should PCS just the same as other prior service with phase 2 at Ft Sam. Ensure you bring uniforms with you. You may get a new issue when you get to Ft Sam, but it may take several days for the paperwork to get approved. If you don’t have Ft Sam as your phase 2 site, you will be TDY en route.

hey sgt, when you got your order to phase 1, when, where, and how did you get it?

So my phase 2 was also at Sam. When I got my PCS orders to go to Fort Sam, I was authorized to stay off post from the beginning. My orders were for both Phases. I did receive an additional set of orders for phase 2 once I completed phase 1.

I'm married though so If you aren't, you'll be in the barracks for phase 2 unless the rooms are full.

I am married as well. What was the point of the second set of orders after you completed phase 1, though?
