I’m a 68C who wants to volunteer for recruiting duty. What’s the odds that I get selected?

I’ve started building my volunteer packet and I have a question. Like should I wait until exactly 12 months on station? Or can I drop it a month early?

Have you seen some of the things posted about USAREC lately? I'd think twice about it - unless you're a single soldier with no dependents and are willing to work to 1900 and six days a week. I wouldn't go recruiting right now if you have a family.

Honestly we don't work EVERY Saturday and not until 1900 EVERY day lol
Where I'm at, we work from 0900-1900 M-TH and 0900-1700 F and the 1st Saturday of every month. Don't get me wrong though, it's not very fun. There are some rewarding aspects to it, but it is by far more challenging and demanding than the operational side of the Army.

Oh, but I forgot to mention, once my station gets caught up on our Reserve mission (which isn't far behind) we will go back to 0900-1700 work days and will be exempt from Saturday prospecting as well. (But I'm in a unit where my leadership stands up for us... not every unit is in the same boat).

Contact MSG Maawac at HRC. He is our proponent NCO that manages broadening assignments. [login to see] . It never hurts to ask.
