Am I eligible for enlistment into the Navy reserve?

I am a prior service AM2 with 8 years of active service. I was forced out under the PTS program. I had a online chat with a recruiter that told me I am ineligible due to 5 years of broken service. Does anyone know wether this is true?

Not sure if this is applicable to the Navy but that seems strange and if anything I say is wrong there are plenty of knowledgeable people around here to say "wait a minute"! I'd suggest speaking with by phone, or in person to a recruiter. It seemed like you may have been "blown off" and because of your break in service you might be a bit more paperwork. Try contacting them at the beginning of the month or at the beginning of a new quarter--when they're trying to make quotas early. Have you considered opportunities in the Air Force Reserve?
