Do some form or cardio everyday that don’t mean running everyday!!!
Also if you lifting weight then stop going heavy and do lots of reps and low weight.
Also do calisthenics 3-5 Days a week!

You may want to seriously consider intermittent fasting. I am currently processing for active enlisted and I lost 40 pounds in 4 months.

One meal a day. No carbs(pasta, rice, potatoes). No white(salt, sugar, milk, eggs). Alot of green veggies(kale, spinach, broccoli, asparagus, etc). No pork and beef. Chicken and Turkey only. Some fruit and some seafood. Alot of grains and nuts. This is what helped me lose BMI.

SPC Jovani Daviu - That's a very extreme version of the Keto diet nad intermitten fasting, but without a doubt Ketogenic Diets work. I do a much more moderate version, still stay at less than 20 grams of carbs a day and a 20 percent calorie deficit with 70 percent of the calories from healthy fats. I try to eat in a 6 hour window. I have been doing it seriously for about 5 months now and I'm down about 50 lbs, but I suspect that I started in a lot worse shape and more body fat to begin the diet too. The good news is I should be at my initial goal weight/body fat percentage (18%) within the next 30 days. Since I have been so successful so far, my next goal is to bring that down under 15%. Lean body mass is up to 184 the last time I checked and my cardio is starting to get back to a level I find acceptable. This is the program that I started on. https://www.ruled.me/start-here/
And I'll be 63 in September. And we have had this discussion before I believe. Seems to be a number of Keto converts on the board.

Cardio, more than any other type of workout, will help you to lose weight and consequently lower your BMI. If the majority of time working out is spent on building muscle instead of losing fat, its hard to see any definitive results in the form of weight loss.
