I transferred from the National Guard to Active Duty. Turns out that this is aweful. I was wondering if i can do the same 368 process and return to the Guard so long as all requisites are met? I'm 6 months into my 3 year contract. I spoke to the Iowa recruiting department and they said that Active Duty will not release me using the same 368 process, but I keep hearing and seeing otherwise.

You can go back guard at the end of your enlistment.

Generally not. But you can see if you can switch units. Look at other assignments, even short term remotes will get you out of bad situation and help your career. There are ways to fix a bad unit without leaving the service.

Let me start by saying stick it through, the reason you wanted to go active is probably the reason you want to go back to guard. I would identify the underlying issue and work on it. Someone from my battery did the same thing. Getting a failure to adjust discharge.
