Retiring (retired reserves) from the Army Reserves and I have my 20 year letter. What’s the shortest turn around time, from the date of submitting my retirement packet, until I can actually enter the retired reserves. Can I be retired in 90 days? 30? 12 months?

I served as a Unit Administrator and retired from the Reserves after 29 years of service. Best guesstimate is about 30-60 days for the paperwork to go thru channels and orders to be issued. You can actually pick the retirement date on the application. Best of Luck!

I meant how long does it take from the day I submit my retirement packet till I can actually retire.

It depends on your chain of command. If your chain of command sends it through the process without any problems, I would say as little as 90 days
