If you could change the Semi - Centralized Army Promotion System, what would you add/take away/or modify? Compared to other services do you think we have the best system?

WO1 (Join to see), I'd probably eliminate the DA photo. I think the system would be fairer without it. The main reason I see for the photo is to tell if a person is overweight, and that should be addressed on NCOERs/OERs.
Besides the possible bias/prejudice aspect of the photo, there's the possibility that a board member might just not like your (or my) look, and that's not a good reason not to promote someone.

I agree with CW5 (Join to see) I would also redact all references to Race, Gender and Ethnicity, as well as the Soldier's name, replaced with a number. And in all cases when a Soldier is not selected a reason why should be given to the Soldier, just like the requirement to tell a junior NCO or enlisted why they did not get promoted.
It should be fair to everyone or it is fair to no one.
