Ok so be for the shit bag comments start let me explain my question I am prior service just can back in had to re class due to a hearing profile. Well after I initially started talking to the recruiter back in late November I broke my left foot in 3 spots which delayed my entry until It healed after getting the all clear from my doc I went to meps all my paper work from the injury was disclosed and I had some extra parts in my physical to ensure I had full range of movement and that it didn't effect my balance and I passed with flying colors so I got the go ahead to ship to ait for 91m. Well upon issue of uniforms and boots I started having some discomfort in that ankle well now along the back side of my heal I have pain and swelling being a prior cav scout I know how important a soldiers feet can be and I was wondering if they put me on a profile if that will keep me from training. Now so you don't think I'm a sick call ranger the only 2 times I have been to sick call I was ordered to go once in 2009 during but because I spit up blood and once at my first duty station because I had sever bronchitis. Any help would be nice???

SPC Joshua Blackburn No one can answer that until your ankle and foot are evaluated, and you know that. Do not wait to see if the pain and swelling go down. Have it looked at now. Please provide a status update.

I was on the Split-Option program when I went into the Reserves. I broke my ankle April 12th, I was scheduled to report for training in mid June. My ship date had to be pushed back six weeks to give me a little more time to heal and to strengthen the ankle. After I reported for training I had to go on sick call for the ankle and was given two weeks of run at my own pace. At the end of the two weeks I had to take a diagnostic PT test and maxed the run. I don't know if anyone thought I was a shit bag for the profile, but I worked hard and scored well on the diagnostic APFT. Give yourself time to heal and strengthen the muscles and you'll be fine. By the way, I broke my other ankle the day after Christmas 2016 so I can empathize with you on this issue. Two days after my physical therapist cut me loose I was back on the trail that I broke my ankle on. My ankle and foot were swollen and sore, but over time it got better. Ice down your ankle and foot a couple of times a day, especially at the end of the day, if you can and make sure you elevate it when you can. It will improve. Good luck.
