What is the best way to find a TPU position at battalion or brigade? I've been a Decon Platoon Sergeant for all of my E-6 and E-7 time and really think I need new experiences to progress. Is it just best to contact someone you know in the "S" shops, or is there a formal process? I'm hoping to get picked up in the next senior board so it seems moving as a SFC might b a good move. I'm in the best company, under the best battalion, so staying within the brigade would be the most preferred.

Wanna switch? I am looking to get some time in chemical unit.
I would seek out connections in the "S" shops. But if you are hoping to get picked up in the next board, perhaps you should consider E8 positions that are likely at the next higher echelon.

Well one thing I can tell you is that you are to comfortable where you are at and need to stretch your wings a bit There are school houses or training commands you can go to. If you make E8 you will only have tunnel vision and will be absolutely no good in any other unit Remember when you hit MSG you main is focused on all troops not just yours Don’t become a desk jockey

Subscribe to the S-1 Net newsletter and check with the ARCC that supports your current unit. He or she can tell you where all the TPU positions are.
