I have a Specialist that just came into the Army. He was prior Marine. Does prior service count?

Ok I'm a prior service Marine. My TIS DOES count. TIG did start over from the time I joined the Army. But you have to make sure the PS guy has all of his paperwork to take to schwaun (S1) to make sure everything is right. He is also authorized wear of any and all awards he received from the USMC. Hopefully this helps some.

I was in the same situation. A 1506 will fix his TIS, however he date of rank will be his first day of army active service. If TIS is incorrect his pay is incorrect as well because the 1506 fixed both.

Yes. His or her PEBD will need to be adjusted in order to reflect the USMC times. However, this Soldier will need to provide documents such as prior contract (DD 4) or DD 214.
