This was still correct as of February of this year so I doubt anything has changed since then.

The CTARNG has two MWD teams of three or four handlers and dogs each plus the kennel master and training NCO. USAR has none to my knowledge.

Generally no. Military working dogs require training each day. Kennel are set at post, Camp and station. Handlers and the dogs are set to static active duty units. Individual handlers with dogs and crates are deployed in numbers based upon the unit mission and where. Handlers and dogs shared pods in Iraq when Inwas deployed there.

From my understanding there is only one K9 unit not in active duty (so national guard, or reserve) but they are on active duty status.
