What do you mean orders for reenlistment? You can’t be ordered to reenlist. You can reenlist and a new contract is signed between you and the Army.

I can say that you cannot reenlist if you are flagged for a failed PT test. If you’ve already reenlisted you’ll still be flagged but they can’t take back your reenlistment if it’s already done. If you mean can they cancel PCS orders or something like that for a failed PT test, yes, they can.

By came down on orders I mean you just found out where you’re going after re-enlisting and you fail a PT test, let’s say next month. What would happen? Would they cancel your contract?

They would not cancel your contract, they can’t do that. They would flag you and cancel your orders to PCS. You would be kept at your current duty station until you pass a PT test or until you fail another PT test after 90 days at which point the soldier would be chaptered out of the Army for failure to pass a PT test. If you pass your PT test you will be put back on orders, potentially at the Army’s needs.

An APFT failure flag is a transferable flag actually if you read the regulation. PCS orders could be cancelled if it is in the best interests of the Army for the soldier to stay until the flag is lifted. But it is a transferable flag and one could PCS with an APFT failure flag.

Very interesting SFC. We have a soldier at my unit who was told he cannot PCS due to his APFT flag. Good to know.

You do know that a PT failure can result in a Bar- which affects ALL personnel actions right? NO bonus, no re-enlistment, no promotions, no school, etc. I strongly suggest you get your 4th POC in gear and pass the make up test or you could be on the street soon.

Ok. Well, you could be flagged and barred from reenlistment. You wouldn't be going anywhere.
