So i was wondering if you ever retake the OPAT? I took it with my recruiter and passed(I think? She didn't tell me otherwise), I did everything well except I struggled with the deadlift.
I can't find much information and when/if you retake the OPAT?
I really don't want to fail and be forced to reclass at BCT or something. I got 68W as my MOS and it's my dream MOS. I did well at all events except struggled at the deadlift.
I'm doing squats and push ups daily right now cause I don't have a gym I can go to, I'm just worried.

You are offered the MOS based on ASVAB and MEPS, you then have from contract date to shipping to meet the physical demand category on the OPAT. All Soldiers get their MOS **before** they take the OPAT. You then must meet the OPAT score for the MOS to ship to training. So you take it after your MEPS physical but before you ship to training. You may take it unlimited times. Many Soldiers take it 2, 3, or 4 times to meet the MOS requirements.

You never retake it. It's used to determine which MOSs you physically qualify for.

SFC Boyd is wrong. You are allowed unlimited re-tests of the OPAT. Once in the Army you may need to take it again if you re-class to a higher demand physical category (Going from 42A to 11B).

I'm not wrong. You're not required to retake it unless you are reclassing. Her question is asking if she will need to retake it during AIT, the answer is she will never be required to retake the OPAT unless she is attempting to reclass later.

"You never retake it." That statement is wrong. She is not even sure she passed. And you must also retake it if it expires, or if the test was not within 90 days of shipping, and if you reclass to a higher PDC MOS. It doesn't determine which MOS you qualify for, it determines if you are qualified for the MOS you enlisted for.
