I am prior service (National Guard) and I am about to re-enlist (active duty). What do I do when I get to my duty station?

I will not be required to go back to basic training or AIT so I will not have any gear or uniforms

I would contact your units S1 and notify them of the situation. I am sure there should be something in your packet either stating a re-issuance of uniforms or providing a uniform allowance. I'm not sure if your recruiter would be able to help, but that is another outlet you could use as a resource.

Thank you. Also. What are the procedures for reporting. The national guard was very lax on this

SPC Christian Weldon - I am not sure with the Army, but in the Marines we reported in our service Alphas. That question is one your recruiter would be best to answer. You could ask your S1 on which uniform to check into with, but you might look like a bit of a "tard". When you inquire about your uniforms/allowance I believe it should be safe to ask. More than likely you will need to get all your uniforms before you check in, unless your S1 advises you otherwise.
