Sir, if you are talking about the "Trail Blazer, Nice Response, Nice Question," etc., they are based off of the amount of feedback that you receive on the questions and comments that you post. Most are awarded after 10, 25, and 50 "up" votes on either comments or questions posted. The "Trail Blazer" is awarded to the first person who responds to a question. I hope this helps you out.

Thanks 1SG Steven Stankovich and SGT (Join to see)!
In addition, we maintain a support page with a list of all Accomplishment Badges as well:
http://support.rallypoint.com/customer/portal/articles/1391688
Most of these badges were initially built with the idea to promote quality over quantity, by rewarding people who receive many up votes for a specific question or response, versus receiving a handful of up votes for many different posts. It's a lot harder to get 10+ people to agree with you than it is one, so we capture that on a person's profile when it happens.

Sir,
In addition to what MSG Stankovich wrote, there is the Thought Leader award for creating a discussion that gets 75 responses. That one is worth 2,500 points, no matter whether you're voted up or down.
