Can you transfer from Reserves to Active Duty & go straight to OCS or do you have to transfer in as Enlisted?

I’m in the process of getting a Conditinal Release from Reserves so I can go Active Duty. Many people have told me that since I have a degree (Public Health) I should go Officer. How does that work? I don’t know anything about going Officer. So say I were to get the Conditional Release and I go to MEPS for an Active contract do they send me to OCS from there or do I enter Active Duty as enlisted and then submit a packet for OCS once I’m at my unit. I need clarification... I don’t really know much about Officer just many people telling it’s a great move career wise and I recently discovered the IPAP program that can be something I apply to in the near future.

I would get with an AMEDD recruiter and see if they have any openings for public health or the MOS you are wanting relevant to your degree. Once there is an Officer position available you would get a DD368, or a conditional release from your commander that needs to be signed by the G1. While this is happening your recruiter will work with you on what is required to get commissioned - best of luck.
