Anyone have experience going through a flight physical or taking the SIFT test for CWO Rotary Wing Aviation?

Don't think the tinnitus would be a problem as long as you can distinguish sounds in the appropriate range. Heck, probably 80% of active duty aviators have it anyway

I've had multiple Naval aviation physicals...probably some cross over.
What specific questions do you have?

My primary concern with the physical portion is I was diagnosed with Tinnitus by the VA in 2010 from serving in field artillery with the Marines. I was let back on active duty with the Air Force in 2017 with my tinnitus addressed and not being of any concern. However flight physicals are more highly critiqued and stricter, and per AR 40-501 tinnitus seems to be a disqualifying factor.

Could be, but there are waivers for many things...it all depends on too many factors to accurately assess here. I guess there's the option to run the gauntlet and hope you pass the tests anyway...but if it does show up, the very worst thing that could happen with the waiver is that it could get denied.

I have done the sift once and the flight physical 3 times. What do you need to know?

SFC (Join to see) - This is an old post but I'm wondering if you would be able to tell me how I go about getting my stamped physical? I called the flight nurse here a day ago and she told me it was good to go but that I would need to schedule another appt. with the flight doc to get the stamped copy. Is this how you got yours?

Your physical will have to be approved by the flight surgeon on what ever base you did your physical on then sent to fort Rucker for final approval. The magical final stamp comes from fort Rucker’s flight surgeon.
