My discussion starts with this. I have seen plenty of times the civilian government workers getting off with speeding on post in government vehicles. Only because they say they are late or they don't know the speed limit when it's clearly posted yet they will only follow it when it suits them. Should they be held to the same standard where if they are speeding because of being late or other reasons, wether in a pov or gov should they receive same punishments as a soldier would receive?

That should be pursued no matter who does it. Not surprising considering the times.

SSgt,
I fully agree in my response time chief Montgomery you'll see and example of what I've seen since 2011 on my post.

SPC (Join to see), there is no doubt about it - everyone should be held to the same standards when it comes to speeding on post (possible exception of emergency vehicles). I don't see what you describe on the post where I "live." That is unacceptable - POV or GOV.

Chief,
Maybes it's just my post, but I see it a lot and also it's not emergency vehicles, I forgot to mention it's duty vans or the gov work trucks I've seen it so much or they would speed by a mp sitting on side of road and said mp wouldn't flash his lights but a non gov vehicle drives by maybe missing a tail light or going six over were the gov was going ten or more they will pull the pov over. I know it sounds like judging but it seems favoritism to me when I grew up and have learned by my leadership be fair to everyone. Both in praise and punishment.

When I would get called in for an emergency c- section, intubation, etc., there was no speed limit for me or the OR crew. If I had to come in for an emergency after the closest gate was closed, the ER would get the SP’s to open the gate. I would roll through like a bat out of hades. On the smaller bases the SP’s new my truck and if there was a line at the gate and I was running the shoulder, with flashers on, they would hold up the line and wave me through.
Thus, there are exceptions to the rule. If I would be exceeding the limit in an ordinary situation I would expect a ticket.
