I'd rather place bets on whether the appointment will happen before the senate changes hands, or during recess, and without senate confirmation. I think AFTER the Senate changes hands, and by established process is too far off the table to even consider a possibility.

obama likes to pick women because he thinks he can control them better, he still has a lot to learn!! whom ever it is, I don't believe no one could be confirmed until the new congress gets seated. If obama can find someone dumb enough at this time it will be fun to watch!!

I am formally from Nebraska and Chuck Hagel did a good job. The next Defense Secretary should have Military and Foreign affairs skills set.

I'm the least political animal out there. I do this as a defense mechanism; to hold on to what questionable sanity I have left. The more I get upset, the less things change. The ideas that I have for our government, it's elected officials, and cabinet appointments are so simple and common sense worthy. That means that they would never get past into law, let alone be heard since the people that it would affect are the one's who approve the agenda setting. Without inciting a riot, I would like to ask that we keep the fate of the United States (and the rest of the free world) to just one member of the family. Not just the Presidency, but to other key positions in government. I do not feel that great leadership comes from sharing a name and certainly not by marrying into the family.
